About Dr. Hawkins
Dr. Maureen Hawkins a licensed clinical psychologist with over 20 years experience providing psychotherapy to adolescents. Her adolescent training includes a postdoctoral degree and 3 years on staff at the Stanford University School of Medicine Division of Child/Adolescent Psychiatry, staff at the Adolescent Pavilion (inpatient care) at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, milieu therapist on the child psychiatric inpatient unit at Children's Hospital Chicago, and 15+ years in private practice in California and South Carolina with a focus on cognitive-behavioral treatment of adolescents ages 11-22. She focus exclusively on this age group and enjoys addressing the unique psychological issues of this stage of development.
Dr. Hawkin's clinical practice is focused on evidence-based therapies for anxiety and mood issues in adolescence and preadolescence. She has expertise in treating Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Depression and Bipolar Disorder. She also works with adolescents experiencing stress from academic/performance pressures and peer/family relationship issues.
